About Us

Our Story

Sara Plateau Apiary started with a simple problem: we couldn't find honey we actually trusted.

We'd visit shops, farm stands, even "local" honey stalls—only to find the same story over and over. Someone buys honey in bulk, pours it into their own jars, slaps on a homemade label, and calls it local. You have no idea where it actually came from, how the bees were fed, or whether "raw" and "organic" mean anything at all.

So we started keeping bees ourselves.

Every jar of Sara Plateau Apiary honey comes from our own hives, right here on the Enumclaw Plateau. We don't buy honey to resell. We don't blend, cut, or relabel anyone else's harvest. What's in the jar is what our bees made, on our land, foraging our forage—nothing added, nothing taken away.

Our bees aren't fed sugar syrup to boost production. They work the wildflowers, blackberry bloom, and forest edges of the Plateau, the way honey is supposed to be made. It's a small, limited operation by design—we'd rather produce less and know exactly what's in every jar than scale up and lose that.
